Scottsdale Mint’s Vision for 2025: Innovation in Precious Metals
While much of the industry remains quiet, Scottsdale Mint is gearing up for an exciting 2025 filled with new releases and partnerships throughout the year. Some initiatives will be launched in collaboration with other dealers, while others will be exclusive to Scottsdale Mint.
The Cowboy Series Expansion
About a year and a half ago, we released the Cowboy series, which proved to be incredibly successful – perhaps one of the most popular non-government issued rounds we’ve seen, purely on its own merit. Originally available through Scottsdale and exclusively through one other group, we’re now expanding the series. The first Cowboy round will be available through all wholesalers in both silver and gold, with new sizes coming to market.
Additionally, Scottsdale Mint will announce a new partnership featuring a fresh version of the series. Think of the first ones as the core, with new “spokes” being created around it. The new additions and sizes are looking exceptional – perhaps the best we’ve seen yet. This focus on Western themes reflects our connection to Wyoming, where we’re now based, while maintaining our Arizona heritage. The West, with its rodeos and culture, remains central to our identity.
Government Initiatives and State Partnerships
We’re currently working with various states on several exciting projects. There are approximately 14 states with gold bills under consideration, which could lead to states adding physical gold to their balance sheets. Some are exploring the use of gold as money, though this is more of a long-term initiative. Others are interested in producing their own currency or coinage (non-legal tender, separate from the US dollar).
Scottsdale Mint is also looking to partner with other countries. With discussions about tariffs and overseas manufacturing, we’re excited about the possibility of handling production for other mints, keeping manufacturing in America.
Wyoming Operations and Growth
We’ve successfully relocated the bulk of our team to Wyoming, expanding our staff in Casper. Unlike many in the industry, we’ve continued to add key positions, even in January 2025. This expansion increases our capacity to better serve customers worldwide from our local base in Casper, Wyoming.
Long-Term Vision
While we won’t reveal everything, our vision is ambitious and perhaps even uncomfortable to achieve. Our core focus remains investment-grade bullion, collectibles, and gift items. Last year, we produced over a thousand different products (SKUs), not including our third-party work.
We’re committed to creating products that hold their value, challenging our team to produce heirloom-quality items that people want to keep forever. We aim to be the number one choice for our customers in the precious metals space.
Future Expansion and Artistic Vision
Beyond bullion, we’re working to bring back trades that left the United States decades ago. Under a different brand but within the “House of Scottsdale,” we’ll be expanding into jewelry (Phase 3) and working with skilled artisans and third-party artists to create fine art pieces utilizing gold and silver.
Some of these pieces might be in the millions of dollars, while others will be what we call “accessible luxury.” We’re particularly excited about creating works that the United States hasn’t seen in recent years, reviving old art traditions and bringing passion back to precious metals.
In line with potential new architectural initiatives being discussed for the U.S. government, we’re looking forward to contributing to this renaissance of American craftsmanship from our base in Wyoming.
Our ultimate goal is not just to create products, but to bring back jobs and reignite passion in the precious metals industry.
