Our special oxygen-free casting processes guarantee consistent quality and composition, delivering a bright-white, lustrous finished metal that shines with brilliance. Sold by troy ounces (ozt.), this silver casting grain is suitable for any casting method and ingot-making applications.
For optimal casting and cleaning, maintain a temperature approximately 100╦ÜF (37.7╦ÜC) above the liquidus point, adjusting as needed for intricate castings. When melting with an open flame, use a small amount of high-quality flux such as MattÔÇÖs Casting FluxÔäó. For further cleaning, mechanical methods are recommended.
To reuse fine silver castings, remove surface oxides with a pickling solution and tumble with burnishing compound to eliminate remaining debris. We advise a minimum 1:1 ratio of new grain to used silver for optimal results.
