Delaware
The flag of Delaware, known as the "Delaware State Flag," features a distinctive and symbolic design. It consists of a colonial blue field with a large buff-colored diamond in the center. Within the diamond, the state's coat of arms is prominently displayed, showcasing an ox, a wheat sheaf, a farmer, and a soldier, representing Delaware's agricultural and military traditions. Above the coat of arms is a ship, symbolizing commerce, and below it is a ribbon with the state motto, "Liberty and Independence." Beneath the diamond is the date "December 7, 1787," marking Delaware's status as the first state to ratify the United States Constitution. The flag was officially adopted on July 24, 1913, and it encapsulates Delaware's rich history and foundational role in the nation.
