Michigan

The flag of Michigan, known as the "Michigan State Flag," features a detailed and symbolic design. It consists of a deep blue field with the state seal prominently displayed in the center. The seal depicts a majestic bald eagle with outstretched wings, holding a banner in its beak with the state motto, "E Pluribus Unum," meaning "Out of Many, One." The eagle stands on a red ribbon with the state motto, "Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice," which translates to "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you." Flanking the eagle are two animals: a moose on the left and an elk on the right, symbolizing Michigan's wildlife. The seal is encircled by the words "Great Seal of the State of Michigan" and the year "1837," marking the year Michigan joined the Union. The flag was officially adopted on January 26, 1911, and it embodies Michigan’s natural beauty, heritage, and values.
