North Carolina
The flag of North Carolina, known as the "North Carolina State Flag," features a distinctive and symbolic design. It consists of a field divided into two horizontal bands: a red top and a white bottom, with a vertical blue band at the hoist. The blue band contains the state seal and two gold stars. The seal showcases a depiction of a figure representing Liberty holding a spear and a red cap, while another figure represents Justice holding scales and a sword. Above the seal is a ribbon with the year "1775," commemorating the year of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, and below it is another ribbon with the year "1789," marking the year North Carolina joined the Union. The flag's colors of red, white, and blue echo the patriotic heritage of the United States, while the design reflects North Carolina's historical significance and commitment to liberty and justice.
