West Virginia
The West Virginia state flag features a white field bordered by a blue stripe on all sides. In the center, it displays the state's coat of arms, which includes a boulder inscribed with the date June 20, 1863, this date marks West Virginia's admission to the Union. The coat of arms is surrounded by the state flower, the Rhododendron maximum, and topped with a red ribbon reading "State of West Virginia". The flag flown today was officially adopted on March 7, 1929.
