Common Questions

How are Gold & Silver Coins Made?

Gold & Silver first must be mined or dug out from the ground. Once it’s been dug out, it needs to be refined. This means it needs to be seperated from all of the dirt and other metals that it’s mixed with.

Once it’s refined, it’s cut out into round shapes called blanks, because they have no design on them yet. You can make any shape you want, but the most common shape is round circles.

Finally, we stamp our design on them using our strong Die Stamps. This presses shapes into the blank coin, as the metal moves, it filles into the shape of the stamp like clay.

Coin or Round? What's the Difference?

A coin is legal tender released by a government for a country and its people, that means you can use it to buy things. Coins often have the crest or seal of their country on them, and they will tell you how much they are worth in that countries currency.

A round is not legal tender. Anyone can make their own silver rounds, even you! Just stamp a design into silver in a round shape and it’s a silver round.
